Wolfgang Huber
Go BackWolfgang, a research group leader in computational biology and statistical method development, has a background in theoretical physics. He is associated with EMBL as a Senior Scientist, co-director of the Molecular Medicine Partnership Unit, and co-head of various initiatives within EMBL. Additionally, he is a founding member of Bioconductor, an open-source software project for biological data analysis. Wolfgang earned a PhD in Theoretical Physics and has extensive experience in cheminformatics, bioinformatics, and cancer transcriptomics. He co-authored a textbook on statistics for biology with Susan Holmes. Apart from his scientific pursuits, Wolfgang enjoys spending time with his two sons and engaging in activities such as biking. He is dedicated to open-source software community building and cross-disciplinary scientific training.
